Job Description

As our company’s polymer synthetic chemist, you will work hands on with our manufacturing facilities and our chemical technologies facility in Houston. This position is to provide R&D support in our polymer product line and new chemistries that would support customers and new development. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead R&D projects  for new polymer product conceptualization and development in oilfield application
  • Perform lab and pilot scale trials to support the new product commercialization
  • Brainstorm and collaborate with other R&D team members on new product development and idea exchange
  • Support customer and internal manufacturing
  • Problem solver and problem troubleshooting expertise
  • Maintain a safety practice in work environment




Job Requirements
 
  • PhD in polymer chemistry/polymer science. 3+ years’ experience with polymer synthesis and method development is required 
  • Proven record of polymers design, synthesis and characterization, e.g. acrylate based emulsion polymers
  • Extensive experience with polymer characterization is required including rheometer, GPC, HPLC, DSC, TGA, etc
  • Ability to work independently as well as the ability to work collaboratively in cross functional groups
  • Excellent problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent communications skills (oral and written) 
  • Travel up to 15%
