Job Description

The Procurement Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining processes and reporting to ensure effective procurement execution as part of the supply chain function.  This position will provide support primarily to the Strategic Sourcing Team and the Procurement Staff.
 

This position will report directly to the Director of Strategic Sourcing and is located in Houston, TX.
 

Travel: It is expected that this position is unlikely to travel
 

Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain supplier reports
  • Develop and maintain KPI’s
  • Assist in evaluating buying trends
  • Create and maintain trade agreements and related databases to ensure compliance with departmental and company policy
  • Assist in new supplier setup and the maintenance of existing suppliers
  • Ensure that the Material Resource Planning module is maintained with all pertinent data
  • Monitor supplier performance including, on-time delivery, shipment compliance, etc. in conjunction with a quality management program
  • Ensure the timely preparation of invoices and processing by the Accounts Payable department for certain expenses
  • Manage the process for managing inventory of leased and owned asset totes
  • Upload new contracts and agreements into appropriate databases and monitor for expiry, renewal, and cancellation dates
  • Support other activities as deemed appropriate by Director of Strategic Sourcing

Required (Basic/Minimum Qualifications):

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Successful 3-5 year track record in related functions
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite – Word, Outlook, Excel, and query tools (strong experience in Excel is a requirement)
  • Strong process development skills
  • Strong collaborative and communications skills
  • Ability to effectively relate to and communicate with people across all levels of the organization including suppliers and customers as necessary and appropriate
  • An ability to concentrate on meeting objectives and performance
  • Comfort/familiarity with constructing presentations, organization communications, and business cases
  • Strong analytical capabilities and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to achieve deadlines in a changing environment
  • Experience working with ISO or related Quality systems

Desired skills/experience/education:

  • Experience working in a chemical manufacturing organization
