Job Description

Position Overview:  The Lab Technician will conduct routine chemical analyses in a laboratory environment. The technician will be expected to produce accurate and repeatable results and generate reports for submission to customers. This position will require an individual capable of working independently to meet daily work requirements.

 Job Description:

  • Perform analyses on fluids and solids following written SOP
  • Work may include the use of a variety of laboratory equipment including: ICP, MP-AES, XRD, FT-IR
  • Perform analyses in a timely and accurate manner
  • Records the results of all tests performed
  • Report results to other employees and customers
  • Maintain a clean and orderly working environment
  • Maintain testing equipment
  • May be asked to perform special projects
  • Occasional travel might be required but will not be a routine part of the job

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High School diploma
  • 8 hours of college chemistry or 1 year of previous work experience in a laboratory
  • Good computer skills and able to use Excel
  • Ability to interact effectively with other employees
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Professional Attitude
  • Timeliness

Preferred Qualifications in addition to above 

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or related science
  • 2 years previous work experience in a laboratory
  • Previous experience in an oil and gas industry laboratory
